Marketing Management BSc (Hons)

For all organisations marketing is an increasingly important function. Whether it’s a charity seeking to raise funds, a business looking for new customers, or a brand expanding into new international markets, marketing lies at the heart of these activities.

The marketing challenges of the future encompass the rise of technology, global competition, fast changing consumer trends and managing the entire customer experience whether that’s in-store or on social media. In this increasingly complex environment the demand for skilled marketers is increasing as is the presence of marketers on the executive board of major organisations.

This course is focused on preparing you for your future career in marketing with an emphasis on providing you with the skills, knowledge and experience to make a real impact in your career. We provide an engaging learning experience that blends the latest research with the opportunity to apply it to real life business challenges.

Our tutors have a wealth of industry experience and classroom sessions are enhanced through the use of guest speakers, ensuring that all learning is relevant to today’s challenges. Recent speakers have included the Digital Marketing Manager of SEAT cars, the Brand Experience Manager of O2 and the Managing Director of Crafty Distillery, as well as a local entrepreneur who employs over 100 staff and exports to 27 countries.

We have close links with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the world’s leading professional organisation for marketing, and are accredited as an official “Graduate Gateway” university. This means that our academic content is mapped against the CIM to ensure we are delivering the skills and knowledge that employers require in the competitive world of work.

Upon successful completion of your degree at 2:2 level or above, you could be eligible for exemptions from the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing or CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing. You will need to register within three years and complete within five years after graduating with us. To obtain the Level 4 or Level 6 you would need to register to study the remaining modules with the CIM.
