Computing (Mobile Application Development) HND

This specialist pathway provides you with a very good understanding of mobile computer systems, mobile and wireless networks, mobile devices, the internet, data communications and multimedia technologies as well as their relevance to modern industry and commerce. This course uses practical examples from industry to reinforce the theoretical underpinning that you will gain throughout the programme.

During stage one, you will study fundamental computing principles including computer systems, communications, problem solving and programming and internet technology. All Computing students study common modules during stage one, which allows for greater flexibility when choosing a specialism for stage two. Within stage two, you are able to follow the specialist Mobile Application Development HND pathway. You will study mobile computing, modern networks, internet programming, and systems design and development. Integral to stage two is a challenging group project where you will work with fellow students in a small design team to produce a bespoke solution to a real world challenge.

Following successful completion of your HND, you may be able to study for an additional year at the University of Northampton and gain a BSc (Hons) qualification.

Please note: this programme was previously named Computing (Mobile Computing) HND.
