Computing (Computer Networks Engineering) BEng (Hons)/MEng

Computer networks are integral to everything - from home life to globally recognised brands. This programme gives you a technical understanding of computer networking, distributed computing, artificial intelligence design, data communications, mobile computing and multimedia technologies, whilst also learning their relevance to industry and commerce.

The integrated postgraduate element of this course expands your technical expertise whilst developing your awareness of the business context in which computing sits. There is an industry focus, giving you the opportunity to work towards professional qualifications to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). You will study three modules and complete a dissertation.

Upon graduation, you will have developed your independent thinking and flexibility within computer networking, mobile applications programming and the communications sectors of computing. You will have opportunities to reinforce your theoretical knowledge through practical work in our computer facilities.

This course is also available with an integrated postgraduate year.

Standard entry requirements apply. A typical offer is around 112 UCAS points, grades BCC at A Level, or DMM at BTEC. You will aloso be expected to have achieved GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above.
