Making your application

To apply for a full-time undergraduate course you can now only apply to UCAS online at This includes Foundation Degrees, BA and BSc degrees, DipHE courses and some Diplomas, HND courses and Integrated Foundation Year.

Is there a deadline for applications?

For courses starting in 2021, the closing date was 15 January 2021, however as the University of Northampton reviews all applications on merit, we encourage late applicants to still apply as applications are accepted right up until September 2021.

For courses starting in 2022, the closing date is 15 January 2022, however you can submit your application from September 2021 and we would encourage you to apply as early as possible.

UCAS will process your application and send copies to the institutions you have listed. Once we've received your application from UCAS, we'll normally provide you with a decision within 14 days. If you've applied for a course that requires an interview, audition, portfolio submission or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, our response will take slighter longer but we'll write to you explaining the next stage in the application process.

Taught postgraduate courses: the majority of taught postgraduate courses start in October. Most courses don't have a formal closing date but you're advised to apply as early as possible to secure your place.

Applying for PGCE programmes: Applications for PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) courses should be made through GTTR (Graduate Teacher Training Registry) at
