Education Studies BA (Hons)

Education Studies enables insights into how education systems develop, how children and adults learn and what the key issues, policies and debates are in education today. The course is relevant to those who wish to enter a wide variety of careers as well as those who seek to go on to qualify as teachers. There are opportunities for international study visits and exchanges as part of the second year.

Education Studies is taught by an enthusiastic and experienced team which has substantial research and teaching experience in schools, colleges and higher education. In addition, the programme involves practical experiences that will enhance your understanding of how educational institutions work. There are opportunities for visits, researching educational settings and activities in schools and other educational contexts.

The programme can also be studied as a Joint Honours programme with another subject.

In addition to general entry requirements, applicants are normally expected to hold English and Mathematics equivalent to a GCSE grade C. A typical offer would be CCC at A-Level, MMM at BTEC or 96-104 UCAS points. We welcome international applications and applications from students with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications.

Foundation Study Framework entry requirements: Admission to the foundation programme is normally DEE at A-Level, MPP at BTEC or 64 UCAS points. However, we would also like to hear from you if you have professional or industry experience instead, a range of other qualifications or self-developed subject knowledge that relates to the programme you wish to study.
