Product Design HND

The programme establishes a creative energy through challenging the dynamic of functionality; desirability; the aesthetic; the significance of material; sustainability, social context and ethical issues; and essential considerations to energise design practice. Industry and business focused projects, working with contemporary technologies and the development of visual language skills will help students acquire the knowledge and confidence for product development. You can also elect to complete an additional year of study, to graduate with the BSc (Hons) Product Design qualification.

Materials, Exhibitions, Events and Visits: Materials for workshops and for master classes, entry to compeitions associated with your programme of study, and those visits that are necessary for your course are all made available at no additional charge. It is recommended that you budget approximately £200 per academic year. You may choose to purchase less or more materials, but this average has been garnered from successful current students and recent graduates. Please note that this is not compulsory and will depend upon the projects you select to undertake.

The cost of optional trips, visits and off-campus exhibitions attract extra costs not covered by the course fees. Graduate exhibitions are heavily subsidised, but we recommend for your Graduate Exhibition you allow approximately £200 for items such as printing, travel, publicity, accommodation and subsistence. Please note that these costs will vary year on year.

For Graduates in programmes within the Subject Area of Architecture and 3D Design the Graduate Summer Exhibition costs will be covered by the Subject Area, apart from specialist exhibition media, specific to your final major design projects (variable, pending your selected project).
