Computing (Computer Systems Engineering) HND

This specialist pathway provides you with a very technical understanding of computer systems and the skills required to design and develop microprocessors as well as operating systems in industry.
When you graduate from this programme you will be highly skilled in working with computer systems and networks including their design, construction, development and operation. This course uses real world practical examples to reinforce the theoretical underpinning that you will gain throughout the programme utilising our state-of-the-art computer facilities.

Includes open access computer suites and teaching rooms. You may also benefit from having your own laptop if you choose to do so.

Career opportunities
Recent graduates have progressed onto the BEng (Hons) course and postgraduate study. Many graduates have also entered into a number of different computing areas within business, industry, research and education.

  • Standard entry requirements apply. A typical offer is BTEC qualifications of MPP, A level grades of DEE or 64 UCAS points.
  • GCSE Mathematics or equivalent at grade C or above.
  • We welcome international applicants and applications from students with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications.
  • Those who do not have English as their first language will need to demonstrate that they meet the minimum English language requirement of IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent).
