Banking and Financial Planning BSc (Hons)

The programme aims to prepare you for the world of work, by providing a framework for the development of key academic and professional skills that will enable you to pursue a successful career in banking, finance, financial planning, investments and wealth management, or further postgraduate study. The degree is vocational, incorporating six modules (financial services, regulation and ethics, tax, pensions, investments, financial planning and financial protection) that make up the Chartered Institute of Insurance’s Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. There is the option to undertake a year-long placement in between stages two and three of study. The students that choose to take up a placement year find it an invaluable experience that helps them to apply their learning in their final year and prepare them for their career.

  • A typical offer would be BCC at A Level, DMM at BTEC or 112 UCAS points. In addition to standard entry requirements Mathematics GCSE at grade C or above, or equivalent, is required for entry to this subject.

    Foundation Study Framework entry requirements: Admission to this foundation programme is normally DEE at A Level, MPP at BTEC or 64 UCAS points. However, we would also like to hear from you if you have professional or industry experience instead, a range of other qualifications or self-developed subject knowledge that relates to the programme you wish to study.
