Accounting (Joint Honours) BA/BSc (Hons)

Accounting is a major and integral aspect of business life in all sectors and across nations. Accounting and finance encompasses a wide range of activities including recording and reporting financial performance, monitoring and controlling activity and resources as well as helping to make sound operational and strategic decisions. There are several specialisations such as financial services, auditing, taxation, risk management and information systems. This subject will complement many others in the Joint Honours programme. Accounting as a Joint Honours subject is most commonly taken with Business or Economics, although many other combinations are possible.

Features: Representatives and visiting speakers from a variety of businesses attend the University regularly. You will be invited and encouraged to attend these useful events and engage in the debates.

Career opportunities:
Those with knowledge in the field of accounting can find employment in service and manufacturing industries, public practice and the ‘not for profit’ sector.

There are several specialisations such as financial services, auditing, taxation, risk management, and information systems.
