Geography BSc (Hons)

The Geography degree at the University of Northampton will provide you with the opportunity to explore the full range of this dynamic discipline. Our programme of study is stimulating, well-structured and research-informed, covering the breadth of contemporary geography. Our academic staff are enthusiastic, experienced and excellent teachers. Our study skills training and career planning module ensures our graduates are well-prepared for employment. We provide opportunities for both local and foreign residential fieldwork.

This programme has been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in geographical knowledge and skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of the world beyond higher education. The accreditation criteria require evidence that graduates from accredited programmes meet defined sets of learning outcomes, including subject knowledge, technical ability and transferable skills.

Standard entry requirements apply. A typical offer would be BCC at A Level, DMM at BTEC or 112 UCAS points. We welcome international applicants and applications from students with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications. Those who do not have English as their first language will need to demonstrate that they meet the minimum English language requirement of IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent). For information regarding English language requirements at the University, please see our IELTS page.

Foundation Study Framework entry requirements: Admission to the foundation programme is normally DEE at A Level, MPP at BTEC or 64 UCAS points. However, we would also like to hear from you if you have professional or industry experience instead, a range of other qualifications or self-developed subject knowledge that relates to the programme you wish to study.
