Digital Fashion HND

The HND in Digital Fashion is aimed at people wanting to work in the fashion industry alongside designers and retailers. The two year course offers an exciting opportunity to develop employability skills in a major industry both in this country and abroad, and to offer specific training in a range of separate but linked disciplines within the wide reach of the fashion industry.

The course enables you to develop specialised knowledge and skills in the areas of digital design, fashion imaging using photography and film cameras, branding and PR, trend forecasting and show creation, with support to take these skills to a top-up degree or into the industry as an employee.

Special course features:

  • Digital design and the creation of flat specs using Adobe Illustrator
  • Fashion imaging for styling and blogging
  • Online branding and PR skills within the fashion industry
  • Trend forecasting and range building using tools such as WGSN
  • Styling with photographers and film-makers
  • 3D fashion show creation using MAYA software

By the end of the course you will have used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create flat specs, created blogs and trend forecasts, produced a fashion film and styled fashion photographic shoots and organised fashion shows for other design students. There will also be research work and report writing to demonstrate understanding of branding and public relations.

The course is taught in a highly practical way using workshop style classes in which you will work individually and in groups to develop and refine your skills, supported by lecturers with extensive industry experience.
