Creative Writing BA (Hons)

This enjoyable and demanding course allows you to develop a distinctive voice as a writer. A range of writing skills is developed through a carefully planned and precisely structured approach. You will explore the poem, short story, autobiography, biography, scriptwriting and writing for performance. A wide combination of core and optional modules is available and our dedicated team of six published writers support individual writing skills through regular, friendly workshops and seminars throughout. All graduates of the programme leave as published authors already by contributing to the UN annual Creative Writing Yearbook, Red Kite, an ISBN publication, which sells across the globe.

The focus on writing skills, imaginative thinking analysis and communication enables graduates to enter a wide range of employment where skills in those areas are essential. These include journalism, publishing, public administration, arts administration, retailing, marketing, advertising, media and communications, librarianship, teaching and many more.
